Editorial standards
These are the rules the TheTalkShow NOW newsroom holds itself to. If you believe we have fallen short of them, tell us.
Accuracy comes before speed
We publish when reporting is confirmed, not when it is available. On developing stories we say plainly what we know, what we do not know, and who told us. A story marked Developing will change; the timestamp at the top of every page tells you when it last did.
Sourcing
Named sources are the default. We grant anonymity only when a source risks their job, safety or legal standing, when the information is materially in the public interest, and when an editor has approved it. We tell you why anonymity was granted whenever we use it.
Labels mean something
Every story carries an explicit label: Breaking, Developing, Live, Exclusive, Investigation, Analysis, Opinion or Sponsored. Opinion pieces are visually distinct and carry a standing disclosure. Sponsored content is never written by the newsroom and is always marked at the top of the page.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it, mark the story with a correction note, and log it publicly. We do not quietly edit published copy to remove errors. Significant corrections stay attached to the story permanently.
Independence
Advertisers, sponsors and members do not review stories before publication and do not influence coverage decisions. Sponsorship of a section is disclosed on that section. Reporters do not cover organizations they have a financial interest in.
AI and automation
No story is written by an automated system. We may use tools for transcription, translation drafts, or data processing, always with a human editor verifying the output before publication.
